It all happens in the A:M

A:M is the only place in gay London where you can sing “Fuck off” to the working week and dance right through ‘til Saturday 11am. Indeed, after-hours clubbing makes so much more sense when it happens Friday night/Saturday morning. Yeah, Saturday might be write-off after your night out given over to dancing and then losing the rest of it in some chill out. But hell, you’ve still got Sunday to relax and recover before the 9-5 treadmill kicks off again. And the tunes? Oh yeeeessss the TUNES! A:M gives the turbo-charged, deep and sexy sounds that usually get relegated to second room status pride of place, all complemented by another more commercial housey room. Try it. You WILL like it…

MASSIMO PARAMOUR

DJs at A:M on Friday 20th February

Describe A:M to the unitiated.
Pushing boundaries and trying new sounds has becomes such a pleasure since I started DJing at A:M. What makes it so special is the people, who truly understand what clubbing is about.

Which well-known DJ would you be your dream back-to-back partner?
Maceo Plex

What is your ultimate dance record, whether it’s house, disco, techno, or pop, and why?
Ame – ‘Rej’. Nobody would have ever imagined that a track like that could have such a crossover effect on so many people.

Top 3 A:M Tracks

  1. Simion – ‘U+I’ (Betoko remix)
My favourite opening track at the moment with an amazing build-up.
  2. Sacha Robotti & Kevin Knapp – ‘Thump Bumper’
Abstract, dissonant, trippy but incredibly funky. Dirtybird, great label!
  3. Disciples – ‘They Don’t Know’ (Justin Jay remix)
Justin Jay adds a deeper flavour to one of the biggest tracks of 2014.

NIC FISCHER

Plays at A:M on Friday 27th February

What makes Friday night better than Saturday for dancing?
Everyone has been working all week and by Friday are ready to let their hair down and hit the club knowing they have two days ahead of them to party or recover from their hedonistic night out.

You’re usually an “East London” DJ. Why should people make the journey from East to South to catch your set at A:M?
People should always follow me wherever I play! (LOL) My set for A:M will be a bit different with a few surprises dropped in, so people should really come down and check it out.

Which Disney princess would you be and why?
I’d be Cinderella as she likes a good night out and always tries to stay out after her curfew.

Top 3 A:M Tracks

  1. Sidney Charles – ‘Cave Rave’
Sidney Charles delivers one of his dirtiest beats I’ve heard in a long time.
  2. Krankbrother –  ‘Zipp’ (Marc Houle Remix)
Marc Houle turn that Moroder-esque bass line into a sleaze fest.
  3. Hercules & Love Affair – ‘Do you Feel The Same?’ (Oliver Dollar Remix)
Belgian singer Gustaph’s vocals are soooo sexy!

SEVERINO

Spins at A:M on Friday 27th February

What musical magic are you spinning at A:M for us?
A:M is an old love affair since it started back in the early 2000. It was super fun every Friday night/Saturday morning… and it’s still crazy

You get to spin at a lot of different London clubs, which means you must have a lot of music! Is there a Severino sound or do you adapt your sets to suit the venue?
Well as a resident DJ for Horse Meat Disco the music there is different. Even when I do Electric House in Portobello it depends; I just want to make people dance and be happy.

Who would you rather be in the studio with: Grace Jones or Madonna?
Grace Jones defo. She’s crazy, sexy, groovy. Of course, Madonna would be interesting, too.

Top 3 A:M tracks

  1. Pasta Boys + Osunlade – ‘Deep music’
Those Italians can do well with the magical voice of Osunlade. Music is what it’s all about, deep but groovy.
  2. Miguel Migs – ‘What Do U Want From Me’
It’s great to see this artist from end of 90s back on Defected with a sexy vocal chunky track.
  3. Flashmob – ‘Don’t Leave’
I always love this guy. Here even better with some garage(y) deep weird sound. Work.

• A:M at Fire (6a South Lambeth Road, SW8 1SP) every Friday night/Saturday morning. 11pm-11am.
