‘Tis the weekend of Halloween madness which, my dears, is an excuse to really go to town with your ‘looks’, if you fancy it. I get accused of looking like I’m ready for Halloween in the middle of summer, so at this time of year I usually blend in!
Now then, first of all I must give you some news on the retail therapy front and let you know about a fab little pop-up shop called Gimme More, which is opening up in East End’s Cheshire Street on Thursday 29th October. It’s a gift shop with a difference brought to you by Maiden (maidenshop.com for more news and info.)
Back to the world of music, drinking and meeting and an update on a DJ spot I’m doing at Shoreditch’s Ace Hotel (100 Shoreditch High St, E1 6JQ) lobby for magazine Jocks & Nerds on Thursday 29th as well. It’s a little DJ series they’re doing down there, I’ll be on from 7pm-11pm so come by for cocktail hour!
Over at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern (372 Kennington Lane, SE11 5HY) our Myra Dubois’ Monster Mash on the 29th looks especially fun, catch Myra in action with her fabulous banter and show stopping style! Back East and The Glory’s (281 Kingsland Rd, London E2 8AS) weekly Thursday FAGGY OKAY! the most exciting karaoke night well… just about ever! I always have a turn when I go down there, this week it’s a Spooky Karaoke Spesh, you’ve been warned! Open ‘til 12 midnight and free to get in, hosted by Ginger Johnson.
Stay at The Glory for the weekend as they celebrate more Scary Mary moments TERRORVISION! Rodent Decay’s Film Show which is happening on Friday 30th in The Glory Hole downstairs 7:30pm ‘til 10:30pm with a screening of Adams Family Values and performances from Ellis D.
Up at Dalston Superstore (117 Kingsland High Street, E8 2PB) it’s time for Inferno on Friday 30th… Join Lewis G. Burton and DJ/producer Sebastian Bartz for a collaborative night with Bum Fun aka Smiley Vyrus & Jason Summerfield, Afonso (Rad Festa) and of course Lewis. Downstairs Venice Calypso, Jack France B2B Venus Ex Machina and Raro. Hostess Gina Harrison and performance House Of Health. 9pm ‘til 5am.
Pub it up with YEAST-O-WEEN at The George & Dragon (2-4 Hackney Rd, E2 7NS) on Saturday 31st where Oozing Gloop takes over the last-ever Halloween there with looks, shows and fun until midnight.
Sink The Pink: Halloween Extravaganza this Saturday 31st at Oval Space (29-32 The Oval, London E2 9DT) off Hackney Road, it’s actually sold out but they’re keeping some back to sell on the door so get there early, 9pm-5am. It’s going to be mayhem with the drag fam of STP including Natalie Geographic, Raven Mandella, Jacqui Potato, ShayShay, Rodent Decay pus DJs Kris Di Angelis, Josh You Are, JVP, Amy Zing and Joan Oh!
