#JULIASAYS…

You can’t go out looking like that! Who says?! And anyway, although it might not be Halloween yet there’s a real build up even though you’ve got to wait another week for that fancy dress parade! I was thinking about all these fab things to go to this weekend and you know I do try and bring you something a bit different every week.

So, earlier this year I had such fun judging at Man Up! at The Glory and I made loads of new friends there. One of whom, Adam All, King of drag kings, is launching BoiBox at Her Upstairs, 18 Kentish Town Road on Thursday 20th. Hosting with Apple Derrieres. There’s an array of talent out there, so catch Calvin Decline, Chilyd Gomes, Oliver Assets, and Oedipussy at 8.30 for some cabaret you don’t want to miss! Free to get in as well.

You can just about set up anywhere and put on a show! This place Lime Wharf down Vyner Street E2 is a dedicated free-for-all when The ShayShay Show comes to town. This event’s theme Groovy Graveyard on Friday 21st October is a bit ahead of all things spooky but hell why not! Join ShayShay and friends J. Aria, Rodent Decay, The House of Bidget, Wanda Ross, Fanny Minka and more for shows and generals screams from 6-11pm… go to Jodie Harsh’s night Dollar Baby at Metropolis, 234 Cambridge Heath Road after, be rude not to.

Bit clubby, bit arty and totally surreal, Deep Trash from Outer Space combines an immersive night with all the trimmings, performance, film and music on Saturday 22nd at the Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club from 7.30pm ‘til 2.30am. There’s so much going on over 3 floors by over 40 artists get yourselves over to cuntemporary.org for more info!

More pre-Halloween goings on with Piggery Halloween taking place at The Queen Adelaide’s basement space, 483 Hackney Road on Saturday 22nd from 9pm. Join this subversive gang of dressers for a real fright fest! Then go to Savage at Metropolis after on every Saturday, well it would be rude not to!

Well I’m not that up on the latest from London’s Ballroom Vogue scene I must admit, so I was well pleased to see this night House vs Vogue presented by #EnglishBreakfastLondon. It’s taking place on Saturday 22nd October at East Bloc on 217 City Road from 11pm. Join DJs Sydney UltraOmni and Jay Jay Revlon as they invite all house dancers, voguers and waackers to take to the floor until 6am.
