SUPREMELY FABULOUS

The atmosphere in the Madame JoJo salon tingled with anticipation, as Tasty Tim got the audience in the mood by playing classic pop, disco, soul and R’n’B tunes.

Then, on to the main event, the Supreme Fabulettes, who are making some seriously glamorous waves on the cabaret circuit! Vicki Vivacious, Vanilla Lush and Mary Mac are three singers in perfect harmony; truly ladies with luscious larynx control.

The two hour set was executed beautifully with each of them perfectly dressed. Gowns were matched and the coiffured chanteuses each shined with solo renditions and group performances.

The packed house is now testament to their pulling power with the mixed crowd really getting into the delivery of the songs. Audience participation was encouraged, especially when Miss Vicki Vivacious, in true Diana Ross style, mingled and made her way through the clapping crowd.

The timbre of Miss Mary Mac’s vocal tone and the way she shapes and ‘colours’ the delivery of her songs shows a maturity in her voice beyond her years.  Here is a performer with a total control of her instrument that, on some occasions, you can hear an almost choral effect, truly wonderful.

Both Vanilla and Vicki’s vocal abilities are on point and the staccato, the use of musical articulation, in their styles compliments Mary Mac beautifully, ranging from a softness in delivery to the power belting out of classics such as ‘Proud Mary’ and ‘Rolling in the Deep’.

It’s all there; the hand gestures, the hip dips, mouth pouts, expertly staged and lit, and with the now compulsory wind machine all contributing to the magic of the evening.

The way the songs are sung is as good as if you were actually listening to a recording; polished and it shows that the ladies have put the hard work in since first showcasing their act.

It’s also clear these ladies know how to work a room, inject comic interludes and build momentum that sees a crowd rise to their feet for the finale. Three superb singers that have clearly been sprinkled with stardust.
