The Ministry of Beyond

London’s world-famous gay afterhours experience Beyond goes all out next weekend when it invades the internationally renowned Ministry of Sound for a very special Halloween experience. Promoter Nadim Auon talks to QX…

Orange Nation hosts its next event at Ministry of Sound, this time its Beyond! That’s going to be nuts. How did that idea come into fruition?

Our collaboration with Ministry Of Sound came about in May when we had the uber-succesful Matinée Daytime Party. It’s an iconic venue and with Beyond going stellar with international parties in New York, LA, Brazil, Madrid on a semi-regular basis it’s the perfect opportunity to show London how we can present big events, with big shows and line-ups.

What rooms are you taking over at the venue and which DJs are involved?

We are taking over every room! Micky Friedmann is our special guest. He’s played at most of the world’s main pride events this year and Beyond in the past. Steve Pitron is to play an exclusive back-to-back with Zach Burns, Maze & Masters and many other incredible DJs. The Baby Box room will see the bear brand STUD hosting to bring another dimension to an otherwise circuit-oriented brand.

Ministry has its own big Saturday nights there. How will that transition work between the Saturday night and the Sunday morning there?

We’ve worked very closely to ensure a smooth transition on the night, hence the slightly later opening time than usual. We’ll open with the Lounge and Baby Box with 103 and ultimately the Box from around 7am. The entrance is on Newington Causeway.

Any other surprises on the night?

Of course! Don’t expect to be interacting with the performers that much. They wont be too happy… it is Halloween after all. I can’t reveal much else otherwise it wont be a surprise!

Zach Burns: Resident DJ

1: ‘Good Love’ (Sagi Kariv Remix) – Inner City
The perfect remix of this classic. A strong circuit beat and powerful vocals, hits it every time.

2: ‘Everybodies Beautiful’ (Peter Rauhofer Remix) – Miasha
This one’s been around for a while and played so many times but sounds amazing and fresh every time. It’s one of the more timeless releases of current tracks personally.

3: ‘Your Song’ feat Hannah Gold (Lee Harris Remix)- GSP, Noor Q
I heard Lee’s Remix of DJ GSP & Noor Qs forthcoming release and fell in love instantly. Everything about this song checks all the boxes for me, a future classic.

Robb White: STUD promoter and DJ

1: ‘Everybody Does’ – Natema
A great nu-disco remake of a classic tune with a cool sexual feel. A definite club hit soon.

2: ‘The Power’ – Simone Vitullo / Rockeed
This is an amazing nu-disco remix of a club classic with an innovative sound. Simone Vitullo definitely has his mark on this track.

3: ‘Long Days’ / ‘Hot Nights’  – Clapton
This track brings back memories on the beach of “Platja de la Mar Bella” in Barcelona at 7pm on Sunday night. Deeper Baby.

Micky Friedmann: Special guest DJ

1: ‘Into The Night’ (Braulio V Official Remix) -Melodika
An incredible energetic peak time track full of dramatic elements.

2: ‘Shout’ – Edson Pride & Michael Munhozz-  (Oscar Velazquez Remix)
An epic evergreen with a phenomenal new remix by Oscar Velasquez.

3: ‘Rollerkraft’ – Muzzaik & Stadiumx – Onelove records.
A real upbeat track with a progressive touch that always gives a refreshing effect to the dance floor.
