17/05/13: VOYAGE VOYAGE! – INTERNATIONAL RESCUE

Yes Voyageurs, they’re back pour la troisième fois à Vogue Fabrics (that’s French for summink, innit) with a musical and visual buffet par excellence! And this is what they have lined up for you this month: Having debuted new material at BURN recently, your hostess A Man To Pet has kept a little something back, and will perform a new piece exclusively for you! Come see what she has up her diamante-gloved sleeve. They’re proud to welcome your very special guest disc-jockeys The Sugarlow Boys, who will be putting their own unique spin on the music that we call global pop. And as it’s Eurovision Eve, resident disc-jockey Johnny Kalifornia will probably play a few more of those 3-minute wonders than usual.

Vogue Fabrics, 66 Stoke Newington Road, N16 7XB. 10pm-late. £3 before 11.30pm, £5 after.

18/05/13: G-A-Y PRESENTS EUROVISION WITH ALCAZAR

So you’ve seen Eurovision at G-A-Y Bar, and you want to carry on the party in the same theme, what’s a boy to do? Go see Alcazar at G-A-Y @ Heaven, of course! Sweden’s hosting the Eurovision so G-A-Y creates a Swedish Big Reunion, featuring the Swedish band renowned across Europe for huge single ‘Crying at the Discotheque’ and yet more camp kitsch. Look out for the usual perfect pop blend of commercial pop on the Main Floor, commercial R’n’B in the Star Bar and 80s/90s/00s and 01s in the Pop Room of Heaven.

Heaven, Villiers Street, Charing Cross, WC2N 6NG. 10.30pm-5am. £4 entry wristbands available from G-A-Y Bar.

18/05/13: XXL LEATHER

This Saturday, XXL are serving another sexed-up ‘Leather special’ – making us splash out on another new harness and keeping us on our toes, right!? Bugger that, we’re gonna be on our knees by the end it… but less of that. Anyway, today we’re bored of all the teddy bear, honey-pot and ‘going into the woods’ jokes we usually make, so today we’re just saying it’s XXL Leather, so if you wanna get the full experience, wear leather, get down there and grab yourself a bear, otter or a cub.

Pulse, 1 Invicta Plaza, Southwark, SE1 9UF. 10pm-7am. Members £8, Guests £15

18/05/13: THE STUD

The Stud is the first gay(ish) night to be held at the Horse & Groom, brought to you by the team who delivered the infamous midweek rave-up that was Disco Paradiso at the Joiner’s Arms. Held in the intimate rock & roll upstairs parlour of London’s most cutting edge pub, this monthly party aims to deliver the abandon of the 70s, excess of the 80s, swagger of the 90s, and the newness of now. With international DJ/producer Wayne G and regular East London and gay scene maestro Stewart Who?

The Horse & Groom, 28 Curtain Road, East London, EC2A 3NZ. 9pm-late. Free before 10pm, £4 before midnight, £5 until 4am. Concessions = £1 less.

18/05/13: MANBAR

This and every Friday Manbar presents Hombre. Think muscle marys in wrestling masks and lycra, throw in an all-star DJ line-up, cheap shots and you’ll have a pretty good idea what’s going down. And if the three Jagerbombs for a tenner doesn’t have you on the floor, we’re sure the sounds of their residents will. Alessandro Londra, Pier Morocco, Brent Nicholls, Severino and Ross Jones are just some of them serving the sexy beats.
