The Adventures Of Dick!

The Adventures Of Dick!

No, this isn’t some insanely inappropriate new kids’ show on Nikelodeon, it’s a panto! Of course it’s a panto! “The Adventures Of Dick” is prime promiscuous panto name fare isn’t it. We love a panto at QX. They’re made up of a festive mélange of dirty jokes, drinking, singing, men in tights and bad drag. That’s like a normal Saturday night for us. WHAT’S NOT TO LOVE.

Wig Brother

Wig Brother

Have you been hooked on the current series of Celebrity Big Brother as much as we have? I mean, it’s total car crash telly but addictive viewing. We were having a natter about it in QX Towers and started pondering who from the scene we’d love to see in a special drag version of the show? What mix of cabaret queens would make it compelling viewing? So, ahead of G-A-Y’s Big Brother spesh this weekend featuring its very own customers fighting for a £1000 prize, and in the throes of the most controversial CBB ever, Jason Reid compiled his list of dream drag housemates....

Sleeping Booty

Sleeping Booty

Vulgar, depraved, colourful and hilarious were the words floating around my head after seeing Sleeping Booty. Writer and director Stuart Saint and leading lady Dusty ‘O’ are now in their third year of panto at the venue, so they’re definitely doing something very right. And it seems Mrs ‘O’ may have found her (new) calling...

(S)he's Behind You!

(S)he’s Behind You!

Christmas is coming, Oxford Street looks like a scene from 28 Days Later and your mum is hassling you about making sure you don’t miss that last train to hers (again) on Christmas Eve. Alternatively, stick two fingers up to all that festive spirit sh*t, and indulge in one of the many queer’d-up panto’s taking place across Londonium over the coming weeks featuring some of our most spectacular drag queen stars…

At Home With Dusty O

At Home With Dusty O

Lady Bunny is one of the “mothers” of American Drag. As a long-time collaborator with Ru Paul, film and stage star and creator of Wigstock, the Trannyshack crew are overjoyed to have her as headline guest at their next ball at the Bloomsbury Ballroom (June 21st). As I got to grips with Bunny, she was as rude and fabulous as ever. Here’s what she had to say…

Dusty O Has Charlie At Home!

Dusty O Has Charlie At Home!

I first met the lovely and charming Charlie Condou two decades ago when he was very much part of the Soho nightclub scene. He was a hardcore clubber living in a flat on the Charing Cross Road and hanging out with Robbie Williams. We both went on to appear in ‘Gimme Gimme Gimme’ (he had an episode and I had one line). We have both written for newspapers and magazines… him the Guardian and me QX! This is where the similarities in our careers ended, however, and soon after that fame called and Charlie has for almost five years played Marcus, a bisexual character in the biggest soap of all time, Coronation Street. I invited him round for tea and cake to my latty in Kings Cross to chew the cud about old times and new times, fame and being a dad to two gorgeous kids.
