Are you ready to get festive for Christmas? ARE YOU? Well we are. We’ve already starting emulating Mariah Carey by calling everything festive. How festive. Apart from the gratuitous drinking (which we do all year round anyway) our favourite thing about the festive season are all the amazing EVENT POSTERS.

After all the highs, there’s always a few lows. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it’s the law of nature innit really.

#JULIASAYS…

Who’s got a competitive streak? We all want to be the best at something or do the best we can at whatever way we express ourselves. I like to set myself challenges and at least have a go because really you never know what you might unexpectedly excel at.

Sun, Sex and Suspicious Drag Queens… Our pick of the London gay scene’s best outdoor spaces

It’s finally summer! The last few days have been right scorchers haven’t they. Perfect for popping cocktail sausages in your mouth on Hampstead Heath, or mincing through Soho’s scorching side streets. London comes into its own at the height of summer, even if it does only last for a week.

Funny Peculiar at The Glory

Funny Peculiar at The Glory

Like fried chicken or Walthamstow, comedy in pubs is cool again. The Glory’s new night Funny Peculiar is serving up a characteristically queer take, hosted by duchess of Canvey Island Diane Chorley in the pub’s discolicious basement. The grande dame of Kingsland Road Jonny Woo assisted Diane in welcoming a host of gay and alternative performers to the pub’s inaugural comedy showcase.

London Pride Cabaret Guide

London Pride Cabaret Guide

HAPPY PRIDE! For me this year’s Pride is more pertinent than ever considering recent events; of course every year we should be standing tall and proud, celebrating who we are, being visible in the face of bigotry that sadly still lurks like a dark cloud over what we’ve come to assume is civilised and progressive times. Drag queens and gender-benders have always been at the forefront of the Pride movement, so I implore you to spread the love, support our bloody brilliant cabaret venues and ENJOY!

Meet the Cast and Characters of Superficial!

Meet the Cast and Characters of Superficial!

Superficial is the new play about the London gay scene coming to The Glory. It covers pop music, drag, the rise of masc4masc, camp-shaming and the closure of queer spaces. With pop songs performed by a drag diva within the play, and set in a fictional gay club, ‘Superficial’ asks what it means to be a proud gay man in 2016, with a lot of fun, dance and humour. We chatted to some of the cast about their characters and what the play means.
