COMMUNITY: Camden LGBT Forum
Camden LGBT Forum is a community group that works to represent the interests of all LGBT+ people in the North London borough. It was set up in 2005 and they have been meeting on the first Tuesday of every other month since. The next meeting is on Tuesday 7th March at 6-8pm in Camden Town Hall.
COMMUNITY: Switchboard – LGBT+ Helpline
Sometimes when you have an issue, sharing it with someone else and hearing another person’s voice can do a world of good, which is why telephone counselling is still so frequently used today. For example, Childline recently disclosed that they had received a record number of calls, around 8 a day, from children about gender dysmorphia and transgender issues. Switchboard still answers around 20,000 calls a year.

Community: The Bisi Alimi Foundation
Nigerian civil rights activist Bisi Alimi made headlines back in 2004 when he became the first Nigerian person to come out publicly on national television. Now living in here in London, he’s started a charity to try and help LGBT people living in his home nation, where LGBT people are still tortured, abused, imprisoned and murdered on a regular basis.

We’re Roasting Myra DuBois!
LOOK WHAT WE’VE DONE! We’ve committed what could either be social scene suicide, or will be absolutely major or both. Either way, it’ll be insanely entertaining. We’re roasting She Who Shall Not Be Roasted. No-one before us has dared! Not even Baga Chipz, and she’s mad. She’d roast Lisa Lampenelli. She’d roast a turnip!
Solace in Strangers: The Samaritans of the Switchboards
Despite progress, too many in the LGBT community still find themselves struggling to cope with issues relating to their gender identity or sexual orientation; too often they’ve no one to talk to. Chris Godfrey speaks with Switchboard co-chair, Nuala O’Sullivan, and Gay Switchboard Ireland director, Adam Shanley, about how their charities continue to help the community’s most vulnerable and isolated.

Oh, What a Gay Day!
The Gay Sports Day has become something of a summer institution over the period of eight years, since it first began. Once a year, at the very end of summer, queer London and their friends come together in Vauxhall Spring Gardens, round the back of the RVT (ooo-eeer missus ) for one of the hottest tickets in the annual cabaret calendar, and what makes it even more special? It’s all for CHARIDEE!
