CALLING ALL GAYS…

Find Salvation in 2012…

MISWHITE:

What was your worst New Year moment ever?

When I got stuck for ages in a toilet in a club and missed the countdown!

What was your most memorable New Year ever?

I DJ’d in a big castle in the middle of Ireland, lit by fairy lights and snowing outside. It was picture perfect and the atmosphere was incredible!

What’s been your favourite track of the year?

‘Work It’ – by Muzzaik & Zaida, the David Penn remix. It’s a sexy, funky, uplifting track that really gets the dance floor going.

What would be your wish for New Year?

That it’s a much better year for everybody than 2011 was! May it be filled with glitter, happiness and all things sparkly!

OLIVER M:

What was your worst New Year?

It was three years ago, here in London. I was on my way to a big gig on the Central line. Unfortunately, the tube stopped in the middle of the tunnel, as they do, and because it was five minutes to midnight I had to spend NYE 2009 alone on a tube carriage!

What was your most memorable New Year ever?

I have to say it was in Berlin at the Brandenburg gate where two million people sang ‘Happy New Year’ by Abba with an amazing firework and laser display.

What would be your wish for New Year?

That the clubbers in London will start to enjoy themselves in clubs without killing themselves on dodgy substances. I’m no angel in that respect, but seriously guys, get a grip! Also, a very important wish would be that promoters, not only in London, instead of constantly fighting each other could try to come together and to work as a unified scene to create amazing events again. But I guess that’s wishful thinking!

PAUL COALS:

What was your most memorable New Year ever?

My most memorable New Year must be last year DJ’ing at Salvation at Koko. It was an amazing party, and I’m looking forward to doing it all over again at Café De Paris this year.

What’s been your favourite track of the year?

‘Talamanca’ by Manuel De La Mare – uplifting, full of energy and works every dancefloor.

What tune do you tip for dance-floor success in 2012?

It has got to be Pagano – ‘The Reflex’, the Danny Verde Mix. It’s going to be massive when it comes out.

 PIER MORROCCO:

What was your worst New Year moment ever?

I was playing the set leading up to midnight at London’s biggest club night at the time, which shall remain nameless!  At T-minus 1 minute, a microphone was shoved in my face, with instructions to count down from 10 seconds to midnight. Just because I can DJ doesn’t mean I can be a compere, so I froze in shock. Needless to say, I quickly regained my composure and managed the countdown, whilst all the time thinking, “we’re slightly early with this”. At the supposed stroke of midnight, nothing happened; no pyros, no big bang, nothing. Clearly my watch and the lighting guy’s, were right – and the promoter’s was wrong. So I hurriedly continued to play music, when, suddenly, the crowd’s countdown drowned out my record, there was a flurry of activity, and a huge explosion of light and pyrotechnics marked the true arrival of the New Year, a good two minutes after my premature countdown. Embarrassed doesn’t even start to describe how ridiculous I felt!

Favourite dance track of this year?

‘Guaranteed Fantastic’ by Pagano – what a wicked title!

What would be your wish for New Year?

That two of the people I love most in the world continue to beat cancer. On a more superficial level, that I continue to love the job that I do and that London gets a gay clubbing scene that it deserves – with Salvation regaining her rightful place as the epitome of glamour and style!

MARNIE SCARLET:

What was your worst New Year moment ever?

Ending up in a police cell many years ago [laughs]. All I can say is, it wasn’t my fault!

And what was your most memorable New Year?

Probably that year – for all the wrong reasons!

What would be your wish for New Year?

More fun and frolics on the stage and even more fun hosting for Salvation

• Salvation is at Café de Paris (3-4 Coventry Street, W1D 6BL), 6pm-1am.
