Cake & Cabaret at The Old Ship

Ever heard of The Old Ship in Limehouse? Of course you have! They’re an institution. Known for their history, their affability, and their camp catty cabaret!

This Sunday 4th, they’re throwing a big whirling charity shindig in association with the Albert Kennedy Trust. It’s a cake sale! A bit like a nice wholesome English village fete affair. Except in East London. With loads of drag queens. We’re hoping Mary Berry’s gonna show up and be condescending to everyone. That’d be ace!

The Old Ship and the Albert Kennedy Trust have long been affiliated with one another, and they’re old pals! Like Jack and Karen. Or Sonny and Cher. The annual cake sale is now in it’s third year, and they’ve already raised over £5000.

But it’s not just a cake sale! It’s cake and cabaret! And they’ve rounded up TEN of the city’s most notorious and hilarious drag queens and cabaret acts as the perfect sour accompaniment to your sweet treats.

Just some of the acts performing include Mandy Gap, Miss Jason, Dave Lyn, Cassidy Connors, Saucy Sophie, Bambi Boo and Dr Woof.
So get down there, munch some cake, and guffaw at some cabaret. It’s all for a good cause!

• Cake & Cabaret is on Sunday 4th September at The Old Ship, 17 Barnes Street, E14 7NW. Starts 5pm.
