In late November, one of the leading lights of the East London clubbing scene, Kris Chapman, sadly passed away. The overwhelming response on social media has been testament to the impact he had on people’s lives; his boundless enthusiasm, immeasurable kindness, and love of all things camp will be remembered forever by everyone lucky enough to cross his path.
CAKE was just one of the many nights Kris was looking forward to putting on at his home-from-home, East Bloc. This Friday, his friends and family are using the night to raise a glass to him and to raise money for funeral costs and epilepsy charities. There’s an impressive list of DJs who have signed up to play, including Fat Tony, Borja Peña, Glyn Famous, Hifi Sean, A Man To Pet, Dave Kendrick, Guy Williams, Princess Julia, Attack Attack Attack, Paul Heron, Jeffrey Hinton, Mark-Ashley Dupe, Richard Mortimer, Dom Top and Martyn Fitzgerald.
Putting on club nights and filling dance floors was one of Kris’s main passions in life, so come down to East Bloc (217 City Road, EC1V 1JN) on Friday 15th December from 9pm-6am, and celebrate his life.
