Discerning scene musings from the Princess of East London

What’s your favourite meme or hashtag? Can we eeerm… #discuss. We all succumb to phases of overuse. Well, I do!

From a #tbt to a #bts (behind the scenes not the boy band). A ‘felt cute might delete later’ or a ‘about last night’, I just can’t help myself.

Over at Boulangerie: Summer Meringue at VFD they might describe themselves as ‘sweet treats’ but it’s actually an inclusive evening of unpredictable queer performance. Taking place on Thursday 18th July at 7pm, hosted by Wanda Cookie and Jules Jones and featuring the talents of artists Lucia Blake, Cassandra, Prinx Silver and Lx Motley. Shows and dancing ‘til midnight.

So there’s a rather wonderful screening of film IF MY PUSSY COULD TALK, which is a journey into the mind of artist Nick Townsend and their personas Trixie, Nick and Sexy Nicole, ‘a story of survival and strength’…it’s at The Horse Hospital, Colonade, WC1 from 7.00 on Thursday 18th, followed by a Q & A and a mini disco!

The Sex Shells have become something of a cult institution and they’re preparing for a jaunt to the Edinburgh Fringe fest but before they do they’re having a series of shows at The Glory. Join them on Friday 19th July at 8pm in the basement till 10pm. After which it’s TROUBLE all night till 2am with special guests and hosts…plus I’ll be DJing (had to get that in!)

Major night Inferno at The Yard up in Hackney Wick on Friday 19th hosted by Lewis G. Burton and Sebastian Bartz. I mentioned this last week but it’s worth mentioning again! Performance and DJs till 6am.

Get into Bottom Heavy Vol VIII at Dalston Superstore on Saturday 20th. DJ’s Wes Baggaley and Dan Beaumont are serious about their sweet beats going ‘tune for tune bumper to bumper’ all night long. Whilst in the DSS bar catch Elles and Margo Broom till 4am.

Back for Princess Julia Loves…at The Glory every Sunday and this week on the 21st we love and support LESLEY MAGAZINE! Editor Kat Hudson will be doing a fundraiser for their forthcoming publication with performance from Chiyo Gomes. 7pm till 11pm.

Book in early for BOiBOX – Splendid on Thursday 25th July at The Glory. Adam All and Apple Derrieres host the creme del la creme of Drag King cabaret superstars! Including Don One, Monsieur Cookie, Mr Party and Sammy Silver! 7pm till 10.30pm!
