I do pop in here from time to time and it really is a community sing-along!!! Hosted by drag star The Nightbus who unleashes their 90s inner child upon you, get ready for tip-top hits to indulge in! 7pm – 3am!
Up the road on Friday 2nd it’s Mints Bday Spesh ft. sexy special guests! at Dalston Superstore. See DJs Super Drama IRL as they take over the basement for a three-hour family love-in. Enjoy DJs Chaka Khan’t, Natalie Sandi and Prince Harri. See the classically trained Mints Dance Troupe cavort all over the place… 9pm – 3am.
Down Hackney Road at The Queen Adelaide basement dive, join drag DJs Ma Butcher and Lazy Susan on Friday 2nd August, who are going all goth with Misspent Ruth. It’s a night where I’ve heard anything might happen…9pm – 2am!
More art news – on Saturday August 3rd at 3pm, pay a visit to New Art Projects which is actually DJ Fred Mann’s gallery near Broadway Market! They will be presenting muse and artist Sue Tilley In Conversation! She’s is in a group show currently on and I hear has been extended till 17th August. Expect all the goss from Sue in her own honest style and an insight into her practice. You can also buy prints of her artwork, which include portraits of icons such as Leigh Bowery!
Saturday nights at The Glory are Glory Lates and this week the late night show stars Holestar who sings from the heart with style on 3rd August! DJ Jacob Aria provides the party tunage from 10pm till 2am, Holestar’s show at 10.30!
Cult afterparty for a cult film…JT LeRoy UK Film Premiere at The Rio, Dalston is followed by an after party at VFD on Saturday 3rd August from 8pm. OMG such a coup as the real life JT LeRoy aka Savannah Knoop will be performing. Guest DJ’s include Sadie Lee and Alexander Loveless. On till 3am.
Let’s all go mad for Debbie! Debbie does Eagle on Saturday 3rd August where tonight Stella Meltdown has a guest DJ spot, joining Xander Bernhard on the decks playing all girl vocal rock, pop and disco tracks all night long! 9pm till 4am!
