I’m already exhausted and we haven’t even started yet! Quick, get the sherries out! Christmas is the excuse for a festive frolic & good old rave up. This time of year, we tie up our bits and bobs and celebrate with a look back over 2019 and start planning 2020! Gawd there’s lots on I must say as we venture forth!
The voluptuous and juicy Cassandra presents Tropical Thursday and a karaoke session at the jolly The Karaoke Hole 7pm – 2am on Thursday 5th December! Don’t forget Just May is also doing their Christmas spectacular Just May Does A Not So Silent Night throughout December.
Up at the ICA there’s much excitement as cult musician, producer and performer NO BRA aka Susanne Oberbeck launches her third album LOVE & POWER. Join a whole night of obscuro underground performance from 8pm.
This Tuesday night the workshop at The Glory of all things performative reaches its climax. WERK: An End of Year Showcase is at The Roundhouse on Thursday 5th Dec. Showtime 7:30pm. These performance platforms are very important and always inspiring. Catch upcoming artistes as they tread the boards and become the stars of tomorrow plus additional performance from the stars of The Glory’s Man Up! and Lipsync 1000. Curated and hosted by the fabulous Xnthony!
Regular night taking place on Friday 6th…QUEER at Paper Dress Vintage over at Hackney Central is where live music and indie hits keep the night going from 7:30pm. Live bands The Other Ones, Nun Habit and Gutts take to the stage. Then QUEER DJs Paul & Sam get it on with a fantastic set list of queercore, britpop, riot grrl and all sorts ‘til 2:30 am!
One of my fave band duos NIMMO are having a night at Dalston Superstore on Friday 6th December. NIMMO presents ‘Power’. Omg this is going to be fantastic, just looked at the DJ list… INDIA JORDAN, JAGUAR, KKINGBOO, TWICE SHY, PRINCESS JULIA, GEORGIE BEE and NIMMO of course. Plus outrageous dancing from Finn Love and Sophie Brain ‘til 3am!
Start off your Saturday with Things That Go Brunch In the Night hosted by Rodent on Saturday 7th December. It’s a festive themed gothic nightmare, where our Rodent has a full experience planned including a TED TALK on why Poinsettia are a criminal offence and a chance to win your own dead Edwardian child! 12 midday – 4pm.
Okay the question on our minds is the impending general election. Stewart Whoo chairs Queer Question Time at the RVT Saturday 7th from 3pm on Saturday 7th, with actual candidates all vying for the Vauxhall seat! Get your voice heard, ask questions, debate and vote. #GE19
As nighttime calls, head down to Fussy: Holiday Pay at The White Swan on Saturday 7th. Hosted by Wanda Whatever a night of, well just about everything. With performance from Chiyo, Shakona Fire, Oedipussi and Minara El Waters. DJs Sadidas, Harry Gay and Yoko Fomo. From 10pm to 3am.
Coming up, trans girl group and party T-Girl Party returns to The Glory on Saturday 7th December. The T Girls host their own fabulous night when they’re not performing at The Way Out Club! Fave rave alert! ADONIS is back on Saturday 7th December at The Cause! This is the last one of the year and at The Cause before they move on. I really do love it here. DJs Budiono, Sven Von Tollen, Wilson Phoenix, Grace Sands, Remove Me, Guy Williams, and Magnus Ashberg. 10pm onwards it’s going to be majorrrrrrr! Tickets on the door.

Yay it’s my turn (I’ve been sharing it with Kevin Le Grand) at The Retro Bar quiz night officially known as Carry On Quizzing and its on Tuesday 10th, starts at 8:30. You’ll have to listen to my incessant drone as I’ll be reading out the questions, which could win you our rollover!
Here we go – an indie alt Christmas with Club MOFO on Wednesday 11th December from 7pm at Corsica Studios, SE17. Club Mofo Presents Bunny Michael, Los Bitchos and Nuha Ruby Ra. Dj sets include Self Esteem. I’ll be reading the tarot cards ha ha another one of my sidelines lol! And hosted by performer Oberon White. On till midnight!
