City of Quebec

06/09/15: QX headed into the beating heart of London’s fashionable West End for a taste of the capital’s world-beating cabaret scene at The City of Quebec last weekend.

Featuring the formidable attributes of vocal vixen, Kelly Wilde, a scintillating Sunday soiree saw the lovely laydee wowing the throng with a cabaret classics request show that had the faithful Quebec clientele on their feet and showing their appreciation.  Taking in a rundown of unforgettable anthems from the likes of Shirley, Dusty, Petula et al, high-note-shattering highlights included tear-jerking renditions of ‘I Who Have Nothing’, ‘You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me’ (but it does help, as we’re wont to add) and Cilla Black’s ‘You’re My World’ to name but three.  Meanwhile, there was plenty of Loose Women-style between-song banter as the talented chanteuse kept those big-haired hits a-comin’.  Elsewhere and we joined the gents keeping themselves occupied with trés civilised al-fresco socialising outside on Old Quebec Street before diving back into the thick of things for a retro disco trip through the 70s and 80s with Kelly as the antics continued through ‘til late!
