KU BAR FRITH STREET: ACCIDENT & EMERGENCY

29/10/11: Someone call a paramedic, stat! The only time you’ll see this much blood, gore and dramatic over-acting on a Saturday night is if you stay in and watch Casualty.

Yes, Ku Bar Frith Street went for an Accident & Emergency theme for their Saturday night shindig, and there were plenty of delicious Dr Frankenstein’s and naughty Nurse Ratchet’s at this fab bash. No longer a holiday reserved for fat, annoying American children bothering scared pensioners for candy, the Brits have really got into the swing of Halloween.

And who else is leading the way but the homosexuals, of course! The ever-lovely DJ P served up some scarily good pop sounds in her blood-splattered nurses outfit – she wasn’t aware it was Halloween, she’d just come from her other job.

And those beautiful Ku Bar Boys looked so good with their bloody cuts, bruises and gashes, we’d started to worry that Ku gaffer Gary had implemented a particular strict staff training regime.
A Halloween special like this really highlights something we’ve noticed about ‘Baby Ku’ lately.

Whilst Ku Lisle Street has, of course, become a hugely successful mega bar-cum-club, the staff and customer camaraderie and more ‘community’ feel here evokes memories of the long gone original Ku on Charing Cross Road… but with a thoroughly modern spin for the young un’s who didn’t arrive at their first gay bar on a horse and carriage. A top night. G’wan Ku!
