SLUT MACHINE

03/08/11: Soho is best known for clubs of Kylie and Madonna fanatics, and while there’s a sugary sweet addiction to the pick’n’mix of pop venues, Slut Machine at new joint Circa offers a hidden treat for the eclectic queer.

The bar feels like one of those luxurious basements from an extravagant socialites’ MTV Cribs episode, with raw brick walling, mirrors creating an everlasting illusion, and the silver DJ pod looking like a sci-fi idea from Gaga’s dreams.

QX’s very own Lee Dalloway kick started the indie and pop music with a difference, introducing Soho to the sounds of Goldfrapp, Santigold and Friendly Fires. This was followed by super-hot new spinner on the block Adam Turner – keep an eye on this boy – who took the action a little dancier, followed by the ultimate ‘DJ in demand’ Kris Di Angelis, who continued into the night, playing mixes and mash-up’s with unique electro tinges.

The guys there were a classy bunch of stylish stubbled ones, with fashion and artistic ‘boys about town’ popping in for a dirty flirt, mingle and chilled out moment. For the ‘homos who hate hardhouse’, Slut Machine is the alternative getaway that bridges the crowds of Soho and East London into an irresistible and intimate club night in the making.
