SOHO BARS WORLD AIDS DAY

01/12/12: As always, the streets of Soho were painted red for World AIDS Day.

It’s a time to raise awareness and funds for something that still affects a huge amount of the global population, remember those we’ve lost and also celebrate the advancements in medicine that have helped so many people live longer lives. Buckets were shaking, red cocktails were poured, change was spared and immense revelry was had, as a number of venues went all out to help a huge number of worthy causes.

Yours truly went out collecting for GMFA, dressed as ‘Leeona Lewisham’, London’s ropiest charity, whilst G-A-Y Bar smashed their own record of the most HIV tests in eight hours, raising a huge amount of money for the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

Comptons auctioned off their hunky bar boys and a huge number of people gave their time and effort into making sure we always remember, advance further and hopefully eradicate this disease once and for all. Soho, tonight you truly did us all proud!
