09/07/2016: On Saturday night, Chinatown became a bustling hive of gay glamour as the city’s glitterati and twitterati and twinkerati descended on Ku Bar’s shiny new gay venue, The Light Lounge.
It’s a swanky, ultra-modern new cocktail experience just around the corner from Ku’s flagship Lisle Street venue. Tall, dark handsome men sat on their comfy banquettes and sipped a selection of expertly-mixed drinks under twinkling chandeliers.
We half expected to see Carrie Bradshaw at the bar, waving a cosmopolitan around and going on about how a good man is like a good cocktail – sweet, alcoholic and best when vigorously stirred. It’s not just your average cosmos and mojitos at Light Lounge though!
They’ve got some adventurous urban spins on classics, like the pallet-cleansingly fresh Catrina’s Kiss; a spicy and adventurous sister to the magarita, with agave, Tobasco and fresh lime juice, served with a salt rim and a birds eye chilli. Thanks Ku and The Light Lounge for a shimmering, well-shaken night at London’s most exciting new gay venue!
Head down any evening between 5-8pm or all evening on Tuesdays for happy hour. 2-4-1 deals on selected cocktails!
