20/08/11: QX Club News donned hard-hat and hi-vi for a night of Village People-go-grizzly antics as XXL threw an erection-inducing ‘Construction Party’ last weekend. Transforming the Arcadia arches into a clubland building site, the XXL gang drew in a rampant crowd of bears, blokes and hulking homos to one of the most happening hotspots in town.
Highlights saw construction masters, Christian M and Alex Logan, spinning skyscraper dance beats that had the heaving main room going wild. Meanwhile, there was plenty of action in the back bar, with retro king, DJ Joe Egg laying down a solid foundation of pop, indie and chart classics.
Elsewhere, the guys took a break from all that hard labour with a well-earned breather amidst the relaxed ambience of Arcadia’s two spacious smoking gardens.
Back inside, the darkroom saw no end of drilling, hammering and things getting, er, nailed whilst the bustling front bar hosted many an important meeting of workers over a reasonably priced pint as the proceedings continued ‘til late!
