04/09/2014: Detox Icunt, a fifth season fixture of the the by-now-revered ‘Ru Paul’s Drag Race’; a show the stuff of legends amongst the international gay community – was far from her native Southern California and a vision in mesh on the main stage at Heaven last Thursday.
It was G-A-YPorn Idol of course, and a whole host of America’s most notorious, nefarious and wanted Queens, by way of RuPaul, have been jumping the pond to entertain us avid English fans for much of 2014. Entertain us Detox certainly did too, sat upon her golden throne towering in her tall frame, studded heels and perhaps propped a little higher still by those tantalising bum implants. Looking like The Not-So Little Mermaid trapped in a fishing net, Detox took to the stage to see how well us British boys could shake our money-makers for the £100 prize. So they came, 9 young men of every shape and form, without restraint… And perhaps needing to pay the rent.
Clothes were shed, and cheers sent up with the scorecards, with Detox even amping up the night’s tongue in cheek entertainment with a finale performance of her song ‘Silicone’ (a more… controversial spin on Robyn’s song for the broken hearted ‘Dancing On My Own’). That’s what we call quality pre-weekend entertainment!
As for the competition, our winner this week was Logan, a tight, ripped and defined crowd-pleaser with a cheeky smile. See you next thursday!
