SUMMARY:Spin Cycle
DESCRIPTION:Kitt can be a bit of a bitch sometimes. Noel can be an asshole. But they loved each other. Why don’t they anymore? And why don’t they even recognize one another? \nKitt and Noel lock eyes in the neon glow of a Launderette\, a queer feeling washing over them- they’re strangers\, but something feels too familiar. Over the next hour\, they air their dirty laundry\, chatting shit about their exes without realizing the person they’re talking about is right next to them. As their clothes get sudsy\, they discover more about each other\, and the life they shared\, until they start to remember who they were (or are) to each other. Memory is a tricky thing- it can make us forget things it deems painful. But what happens when we come face to face with those memories? How hard will your mind work to keep you in the dark? \nSpin Cycle is a queer story about the space between loving someone and not\, forgetting and remembering\, and dirty and clean clothes. It is a bittersweet\, absurdist piece that delves into a complex \nrelationship\, exploring how love can affect us even when you can’t remember how… or when… or why. “Spin Cycle is a fresh and clever take on a relationship story\, and a beautifully written examination of a queer meet-cute with a twist. Up-and-coming writer Zofia Zerphy deconstructs two complex individuals and their connection to each other in a relatable look at how we behave with those closest to us and the stories we tell ourselves along the way.” Jodie Adams\, Senior Programmer of Underbelly Boulevard. \nBerserk Theatre is co-run by Zofia Zerphy and Vilde Bjorkedal. Spin Cycle is their third play\, following \nAn Average Family ****\, and their debut play How to Urn a Living****.

SUMMARY:Blink
DESCRIPTION:This one-man gay rom-com will have you smiling\, laughing and reaching for the tissues. Lonondon Pub Theatre Reviews gave it a five star review\, calling it “An exceptionally moving and honest piece”. Blink is a mix of observational comedy and emotional insight into modern life for an interracial gay couple. Jake meets the man of his dreams who is a Kenyan refugee now working for Stonewall. Their relationship is full of laughter and together they build an incredible life filled with love\, adventure and comical moments. But being gay isn’t all sunshine and rainbows as they face homophobia and racism head on\, combat HIV stigma and show the world that two men partnered together – even from different races – are no different to anyone else. Theatre Weekly called it “A one-man tour de force”. Terry Geo wrote/directed his first play at age 11. He worked in television after leaving school\, becoming the youngest TV director. After a very brief period in a boyband\, he starred in musical theatre productions\, short films\, music videos and toured the UK and UAE with a TIE show. In 2017\, Terry wrote and directed an award-nominated musical for the London stage. Blink of an Eye was the precursor to Blink. He has also published two science fiction novels and is currently writing his third. Blink is directed by Paul T. Davies\, playwright and director of Jackie\, Bury Me and Living with Luke.
