SUMMARY:West London Queer Project Pride Month - 10k Walk and Celebration (In aid of motor neurone disease)
DESCRIPTION:This Pride Month\, the West London Queer Project will kick off a scenic 10k walk along the River Thames\, starting from Lyric Square in Hammersmith. We celebrate Pride Month by being present\, visible\, and showing solidarity with our community. Additionally\, the event will raise much-needed funds and awareness for motor neurone disease. \nThe walk starts at 10 am and will last up to two hours. Afterwards\, you can enjoy an afternoon of delicious food\, camp entertainment\, and plenty of fun at the Black Lion in Hammersmith! \nThose who joined in the last two years know it is one of WLQP’s best events. This year\, the 10k Walk is expected to be even bigger and better\, with around 500 participants. \nTicket includes entry to the walk and after-party\, a Progressive Pride Flag\, a WLQP commemorative medal\, and a £5 food voucher for the Black Lion\, plus a pint of lager or a soft drink. \nThe Walk\nMeeting Point: Lyric Square\, Kings Street\, Hammersmith \nGetting there: Tube: Hammersmith (Piccadilly\, District\, H/Smith & City). Bus: 33\, 72\, 209\, 283\, 419 \nRegistration: 9am to 9:50am \nWarm-up: 9:50 am \nStart: 10 am \nRoute\nStarting at Lyric Square in Hammersmith\, we will make our way down to the River Thames and then cross Hammersmith Bridge. We will follow the Thames Path along the south side of the river\, passing by the gorgeous Barnes and Mortlake\, before crossing over Chiswick Bridge and returning to the north side of the river. The home stretch will take us along the Thames Path through Dukes Meadows and Chiswick Mall\, ending at the Black Lion Pub. \nThe route will be clearly marked\, maps will be available\, and marshalls will be on duty throughout the walk. \nThe Celebration\nVenue: The Garden @ The Black Lion\, Hammersmith\, W6 \nTime: 1 pm to 5 pm \nPerformers: Vanity Von Glow\, Luna Cortez\, Brent Would & Beary Poppins (Host). \nFundraising for Motor Neurone Disease Association of West London\nFundraising is not compulsory; however\, we would all love for you to help raise funds and awareness for the Motor Neurone Disease Association of West London. \nPlease use this link to create your fundraising page.
