Issues with Chemsex, Porn, Online Addiction?

NEW THERAPY SERVICE LAUNCHED FOR LGBT COMMUNITY

LGBTplus is a new psychotherapy & counselling service launched specifically for the gay community.

Psychotherapist, Stephen Hanscomb (MBACP) has worked in the LGBT community for many years, gaining experience across the sector within sexual health HIV/AIDS, sexual abuse and youth homelessness and has identified the need for a specialist service that really understands where gay men are coming from and the issues many face today, particularly around the areas of chemsex, porn and alcohol addiction.

He works with individuals on a one-to-one basis and his discrete service is confidential and totally non-judgemental.

“I feel gay men need a safe space in which to talk about serious issues affecting their lives today. They need to talk to someone who understands them, someone they can trust and rely on at a difficult time.

Over the past few years I have seen how addictive sexual behaviour around chems, porn and alcohol can not only ruin an individuals mental health stability, but their relationships and careers, and the situation, particularly in London, seems to be getting worse.”

“I feel gay men need a safe space in which to talk about serious issues affecting their lives today.”

LGBTplus can help the community in a number of specific areas including; Addiction, Sexuality, HIV/AIDS, Relationships, Gender Identity, Anxiety, Sexual and Emotional Abuse, Self Esteem and Depression.

Based in a discrete, comfortable office in Belsize Park NW3, Stephen sees clients weekly, for either short term or long term therapy.

“LGBTplus has been created to offer one-to-one counselling to anyone in the LGBT community who feels they want to talk to another gay person, who will give them the space and opportunity to open up about aspects of their lives they may never have discussed before.

The initial session is free of charge to allow us to get to know each other and then a fee is payable at a rate depending on the circumstances of the individual.”
