Twenty-five years ago, director Sean Mathias presented his film version of Bent, Martin Sherman’s Tony-nominated play to the world.

Now, to mark the film’s anniversary, Riverside Studios welcome its director for a screening and Q&A on Saturday, 15 October, at 2 pm.

Clive Owen plays the lead role of Max, the fun-loving member of the 30s Berlin party scene who makes a decision that puts him and his boyfriend in great danger. He is joined in the cast by Ian McKellen, who arguably made the role and the play famous, as well as Lothaire Bluteau and Mick Jagger. We are delighted that, to mark the film’s 25th anniversary, director Sean Mathias will take part in a Q&A after this show.

This heartrending story of the persecution of gay people in Nazi Germany is a ‘must see’.
