KU BAR

26/05/13: It seemed like every gay man and his dawg was at As One in the Park on Sunday.

Hell, even the Ku Bar crew upped sticks and took their pectastic barmen to Victoria Park. Thankfully, they made it back just in time to fling open the doors as the evening hoards hit Soho. Clearly inspired by the sunny afternoon’s Ku Garden Party, the bar was full of bronzed beauties, a few grass stains and the heady scent of Eau de Factor 30.

Though there may have been burned shoulders, no-one got stung at the bar and it seemed the penchant for Pimms and summery cocktails kept the good mood going long after the sun went down. There was certainly no room for lounging about on blankets and deck chairs either; Lisle Street was a strictly stand-up-and-be-counted affair, packed full of boys giving out their numbers and glad of the three-day weekend.

The crowd was more than ready to dance and the downstairs dancefloor quickly filled up. We hear Ku’s lil’ sister on Frith Street was just as busy, spilling out onto the streets! It seems like summer may finally be here. Pass the after-sun and pour out the shots – we have no doubt we’ll spending many more nights in Ku over the next few months.
