27/08/11: London went into lockdown for a monumental bank holiday blast as the mighty WE staged a rocket-boosted ‘Prisoner of Love’ bash last Saturday.  QX joined the chain gang for a night of jumpin’ jailbird antics that had the Coronet erupting like a lovelorn Alcatraz.

Highlights on the main dancefloor saw D’Johnny raising the temperature with a barrage of banged-up beats before vacating the decks for an action-packed, Latin-fuelled, house set from Madrid superstar, Carlos Gallardo.

Meanwhile, the WE dance crew staged a breakout, making real all our prison-cell fantasies with a homoerotic show, hot enough to get the crowds drooling like sex-starved lags.

Elsewhere, room 2 provided a more intimate atmosphere with a sizzling underground DJ soundtrack from Manuel Diego before the focus shifted back to the main stage and a live PA from vocal diva Tara McDonald. Raising the roof with a greatest hits rundown of anthems, including mega-smash, ‘Shake It (Move a Little Closer)’, Tara is one lady who knows how to rock that party vibe. WE does it again – here’s to the next one!
