Summer Rites Main Dance tents…

Astroboy

“Eagle is alternative Vauxhall. A versatile venue with a lot of character, we promote a serious policy of great music be it disco, house or pop, to a fun sexy crowd. Eagle London has something for everybody.”

Eagle Top 3

‘Age of the Jaguar’ – Tommy Disco
I like it because it’s a fluffy happy nu disco track that lately is always in my DJ set.

‘Time’ – Kid Color
This track is more up bit, a good pumping nu disco track that send the crowd off whenever I play it.

‘Toothbrush’ – Manuel Tur
No vocal, cool deep house sound (what I call a serious sound).

Favourite Pride Memory

I come from south of Italy from a town called Bari. That is where my sweet memory of my first gay pride goes. It was summer 2003, a few months before I moved to London. It was a great sunny day. A lot of people turned up at the parade near the seaside and down town. Being that Bari is a very conservative town I wasn’t expecting all that great energy and excitement. I remember people throwing flowers from the balconies, others clapping their hands. There were people singing along, it was a real party and an amazing celebration and great fun!

Johnny Kalifornia : Carpet Burn

“Cutting some rug for nigh on five years, Carpet Burn is the original ‘Right Effing Knees-Up’, providing a heady mix of 80s & 90s anthems via retro-house, electro-pop, PWL, freestyle and Madonna. Our mixed, pop-savvy crowd is fanatical – with the emphasis firmly on shameless FUN. Past guests have included Pete Burns, Kym Mazelle, Jaki Graham & Mark Moore of S’Express, and our themed nights are legendary.”

Carpet Burn Top 3

‘The Slightest Touch’ (Shep Pettibone Touch Remix) – Five Star
Shep Pettibone epitomises the Carpet Burn sound, and his remix of ‘The Slightest Touch’ is a bonafide Carpet Burn anthem. Denise from Five Star performed a hit-laden set for us just last month, and this track was an undeniable highlight – she brought the house down, naturally!

‘Trapped’ (Mickey Re-Work) – Colonel Abrams
A lot of re-works just don’t, erm, work…but Mickey delivers in spades, updating the Colonel’s already faultless 80s dance track in a nu-disco style. And you can download it for FREE off Soundcloud, too.

‘Need U (100%)’ (Skreamix) – Duke Dumont feat. A*M*E
As if we weren’t spoiled enough with the retro-house stylings of the original, Dubstep king Skream takes THE TUNE OF THE YEAR even further back to 1985 with this ‘freestyle’ remix – 100% irresistible.

Favourite Pride Memory

“We have to go way back to (I think) Summer Rites of ‘99 – a complete wash-out, we spent the first hour hiding under a tree before deciding ‘sod it’ and surrendering ourselves to the mudbath – a glorious, messy day out that proved the wet ones really are the best ones…!”

Jim Stanton: Horse Meat Disco

“Horse Meat Disco is queer disco for everyone that ten years ago single-handedly made gays like disco music again!”

Horse Meat Disco Top 3

‘In the Evening’ – Sheryl Lee Ralph
Probably the biggest HMD anthem of all time.

‘This Time Baby’ – Jackie Moore
Why? THOSE cowbells!

‘Lucky’ – Donna Summer
Timeless.

Favourite Pride Memory
Probably doing too many poppers on the waltzers at Finsbury Park!

Saturday 29th June at Shoreditch Park, 1pm-10pm.
