Don’t You Know Who I Am? Ollywood: Club Host Extraordinaire

Where are you from and where do you live now?

I’m originally from Worthing, a small town next to Brighton. It’s nicknamed ‘God’s Waiting Room’ cause it’s full of old people… I now live in Stockwell, South London.

How old are you? (Real age and make believe)

I’m 24 and I’ve been 24 for 2 years now…

Describe yourself in five words.

Notta girl, notyet a woman (does that count?!)

Sum up your personality in a song title and a movie title.

Song: ‘Life’ by Des’ree

Film: Showgirls

Who are your three ultimate icons?

Tom of Finland, Paris Hilton, Mr G.

What was the first gay venue you ever went to and describe the experience in one sentence?

Worthing has one gay pub which was called The Jack Horner. It took me about 15 minutes to work up the balls to walk in, and when I did, I just saw two old men sat at the bar and I walked out again.

What was the first club you ever worked at and how was it?

Rebel Rebel at The Pheonix was the first party I worked for. I did flyering, cloakroom, guestlist, then people finally let me inside the clubs and I started hosting parties.

What has been the highlight of your career so far?

My favourite ever party was the third birthday of The Men Who Fell 2 Earth. Just an amazing night with all my favourite people.

What has been your worst club moment ever?

Any club where I tried to DJ. DJing isn’t for me….

Who are the world’s best DJs?

Paris Hilton. Not joking.

Who is your favourite cabaret performer and why?

Jacqui Potato! He doesn’t have a show but he IS the show!!!

What makes the London gay scene so special?

We embrace the quirky. It’s a bit rough, it doesn’t have to be polished.

And what is the worst thing about the gay scene?

Egos and jealousy.

What question do you get asked the most when working?

“Did your neck tattoo hurt?” Nooo course it didn’t…

If you were a cocktail, what would be your ingredients?

Cheese, bacon and beef. Basically I’d be a cheeseburger.

Which TV show character would you love to meet if they were a real person and why?

The caterpillar from Labyrinth! I wish she’d gone for a cup of tea with him instead!

Tell us something about you that nobody knows…

My first job was on an ice cream van. My van read “fresh cream made especially for you” and it’s been the same ever since.
