Known for seamlessly blending vocal tech house with remixed pop classics, Prince JayJay is no stranger to commanding a crowd. From headlining global venues in Croatia, Berlin, Ibiza, Tokyo, and Zurich to curating their own inclusive nightlife sensation, The Club Kid Party, in Amsterdam and London, their presence behind the decks is nothing short of electric.

Appearing at the As One In The Park Festival on Saturday, July 19th marks another milestone in Prince JayJay’s ever-expanding career, further solidifying their reputation as a powerhouse performer, fashion artist, and nightlife icon.

Hey Prince JayJay, it’s great to catch up with you. You’re back with a headline set at the As One In The Park Festival. What will you be serving up sound-wise?

Hey babe, I’m so happy to be back, last year’s As One Festival was scrumptious. You can expect my signature sound—nostalgia, remixed, tech-house bangers. Think pop vocals from your fave diva, chopped up to a delicious beat.

How was last year’s inaugural festival? What were the highlights for you, and what made them so special?

Last year was fab, and it’s only gonna be better this year. What made it extra special for me was meeting the love of my life, my boyfriend, Andrea, and having our first kiss to the sound of Absolute playing (a fave DJ of mine), and we’ve been together since.

The As One Festival is on during Pride Month, how important is it for London to celebrate the contribution and talents of the LGBTQ+ community?

Absolutely crucial. Celebrating the LGBTQ+ community during Pride Month in London isn’t just about throwing a sensational party, it’s about recognising the power, creativity, and resilience that queer people bring to every part of this city, from nightlife to healthcare, fashion to politics. And let’s be very clear: Pride started as a protest, and the fight for equality is far from over. With trans rights under increasing threat around the world, it’s more important than ever that London shows up, loudly, proudly, and unapologetically, in solidarity with our trans siblings. Visibility saves lives, allyship changes laws, and celebration fuels revolution!!

As well as running your own club night, The Club-Kid Party, you’ve also produced the “Push It Deep” single. Was making music something you’ve always wanted to do? How do you approach production? Is it ideas or sounds, and how does the creative process work for you?

Yes, making music was something I knew I always wanted to do, I mean I always wanted to be a pop star, so it’s just a step in that direction. I really just wanna make music that people love to dance to, to let go and to feel joy. I also love to be a little cheeky. It’s a collaborative process with me and my producers; we bounce ideas off each other, follow the vibe and let the music take us on a journey. I will be making more music, with a more upbeat sound… I’m loving a bouncy beat atm.

Producing or DJ-ing – do you have a favourite and what do you like about each one?

DJ-ing, as I love being on stage and performing, that synergy you get with the crowd is undeniably electric. It’s addictive, and music connects us. It’s all about love and bringing people together, which is why making the music that people love to dance to is equally as powerful.

What were your earliest inspirations?

I was in my early teens in the 2000s, so I wasn’t going to any clubs or really involved in any music scene other than watching MTV, and I love music videos. My sound now is very inspired by that childhood nostalgia, insatiable 2000s pop that you just can’t get now. I love taking those classics and reinventing them for the dance floor in today’s vibe.

How’s 2025 been so far, and can you tell us what’s upcoming for you?

Omg, it’s been wonderful. I say this all the time, but for me, it’s getting to travel around the world playing music and meeting like-minded people, expressing myself on stage, and having fun. 2025 is no exception, and I will be at my home away from home in Amsterdam for my party—The Club-Kid Party—as well as playing in Croatia, Italy, Lisbon, and I’m still hoping to get to Australia! Keep an eye out on my Instagram to see where I’ll be playing next.
