07/12/14: Having endured a traumatic transatlantic flight in an aisle seat (the indignity of it) and with a comedown the likes of which would tip even the hardened Vauxhall Vera over the edge, our favourite foul-mouthed trolley dolly touched down at the ‘Brewers on Sunday and was ready to channel all that pent up frustration into an exquisite hour of supersonic stand-up.
Glamorous host Coral DeVille welcomed us into a capacity club bar with a flute of complimentary plonk (well, it’d be rude to refuse) and a warm smile, before Pam took to the stage. And with a gentle and subdued “MAKE SOME FUCKING NOISE LONDON” she did just that, with a video introduction that read, ‘Her personality is so infectious, it’s just like herpes’ followed by a musical opener of ‘Who Run The World? GAYS!’
As always with Pam, NOTHING was off limits as she commanded the room like a wisecracking, super-stylish (we want those earrings!), Tasmanian devil. Gang bangs, black cock, drugs, ebola, ISIS, Tinder were all on the agenda. The audience lapped up every filthy anecdote and over the hour of non-stop part-scripted, part-improvised stand-up, she never lost them once. One of our favourite parts of the night was when she pulled an airborne iPhone that was getting on her tits out of the hands of a twink at the front and threw it to the side of the stage. “NOW WATCH THE SHOW”. Oh how we laughed…
Every time she returns to her spiritual home, the Two Brewers, she packs it out, and it’s crystal clear why. Pam Ann gets better, filthier, fiercer and gayer (she’s the gayest straight woman we know) with every returning visit.
