QX is excited to tell you about the LGBTQ+ New Comedian of the Year 2024 Finals, the UK’s biggest LGBTQ+ stand-up comedy competition.
This event features some of the most promising emerging talent in the LGBTQ+ comedy scene. Nine of the best new acts will be showcased, and you can watch and vote for your favourites to help find the LGBTQ+ New Comedian of the Year 2024.
The judging panel is truly impressive, with guest judges including Jonny Woo, Jen Brister, Zoe Lyons, and Daniel Foxx. Hosting the event is the wonderful Dane Buckley, and the 2013 winner Victoria Olsina will be headlining what promises to be an unforgettable night of LGBTQ+ stand-up comedy.
Here are the LGBTQ+ New Comedian Of The Year Finalists:
- James Danielewski: “Cheeky real-life stories from a gay Northerner down south.”
- JR: “A Clapham Gay or Clapham Grey, representing Daddies out there!”
- Maple Zuo: “Chinese-Mongolian Comedian. Finalist Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year 2023.”
- Fab Goualin: “The levity architect – constructing joy one punchline at a time.”
- Sallyann Fellowes: “Weirdly funny Autistic Bisexual. Winner Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year 2023”
- Caitlin Powell: “Blends razor-sharp rants, off-kilter observations, and silly bits.”
- Kate Sharp: “Kate Sharp is an average gay but above average gay comedian.”
- Marty Gleeson: “Offbeat, whimsical and dry with an unexpectedly dark edge.”
- Ciara O’Connor: “Following an award-winning career in the Manchester drag scene, Ciara did the most transsexual thing of all; quit and erased all traces from the internet so she could move to London and date a Product Manager.”
The doors open at 6:45 pm, and the show starts at 7:30 pm and ends 10 pm.
