‘sex person’ – anyone who makes sex everyone’s business
Just so you know what we’re on about here, our definition of a ‘sex person’ is anyone who does lots to do with sex. It could be writing about sex, singing about sex, talking about sex…
A ‘sex person’ is also someone who approaches the subject of sex with a discerning eye and zero judgement. They also usually have a lot of sex, but not always.
So here they are, our fave sex people!
Madonna
She is, some might say, the ORIGINAL Sex Person. She wrote a book called SEX. She’s always incorporated sexuality into her music and visuals. Throughout her career, she’s decimated boundaries and challenged taboos. A true SEX icon.
Johnny Rapid
We had to put Jonny Rapid in this, just because he’s an unapologetic slut, which we love. Interestingly, he’s straight and has a girlfriend. Bet ya didn’t know THAT.
Dita von Teese
FAAAB. Burlesque queen Dita has always been demurely unphased by accusations that she’s built a career out of selling her body. She dismisses these opinions, quite rightly, as patriarchal bullshit.
Brooke Candy
Fabulous club kid/recording artist/fashion icon Brooke Candy started off working as a stripper in Hollywood, while her father worked full time as CFO of Hustler Magazine. Sex and sexuality have always been a part of her life, and she explores it candidly and assuredly in her art.
George Michael
YES George! He was always way ahead of his time in being unashamedly sex positive. “Gay people in the media are doing what makes straight people comfortable,” he said to The Guradian in 2005 “Automatically, my response to that is to say I’m a dirty filthy fucker and if you can’t deal with it, you can’t deal with it.”
Lily Allen
Lily often sings about the finer details of her sex life – she’s a good egg, is Lily. Recently the Daily Mail published a gleefully judgemental article about how Lily had slept with female escorts during her last tour. Lily’s response was perfect: “Yeah I did. So?”
Russell Brand
Speaks openly and often about his former sex addiction, and how it’s important for us all to not be ashamed, and to talk about sex as much as we like. Nice one, Russ!
Paris Lees
Oh HEY Paris! We love Paris – she’s a journalist and TV presenter, for those of you who don’t know, and she’s got a regular column about sex in Vice Magazine. A few years back she took part in a debate on promiscuity at the Oxford Union and drew actual gasps from a hall of undergrads by saying “I try to be good, but cum just tastes nicer if it’s from someone else’s boyfriend.”
Samantha Jones
Lol
Karley Sciortino
Otherwise known by her alias/screen name SLUTEVER, Carly makes surly and hilarious videos about her sexual escapades, and she’s written a couple of critically-acclaimed books on the subject. Give her a google, she’s great.
Amber Rose
She’s done so much for sex-positivity lately that we don’t know where to start. If you know, you know. She’s fabulous, and truly a great role model for perhaps shy young women in need of a bit of empowerment.
Teddy Torres
He’s our fave porn star right now, just because it looks like he thoroughly enjoys every SECOND. And that’s what it’s all about!
