With most of the UK under lockdown, you may feel like your partying days are over for the time being. Well, you’re wrong. Keeping the party pumping through this pandemic is this Queer House Party. Bringing together exciting DJ talent and talented performers, this is one party you can get in on from the comfort of your sofa. Get the drinks in and keep the party going!

Since most queer spaces are orientated around nightlife, this can be a very trying time for queer people especially. Ready to raise your spirits and sustain your dancefloor devotion this Friday are DJs Harry Gay, Passer (Nik Erz) and Wacha (Seren Notsarah). They share that “the world is on fire but SO ARE WE.”

Harry Gay, who’ll be taking to the decks, is a seasoned mixer and party starter who’s seen his fair share of booming ragers. He’s one third of the anti-fascist DJ collective Glamtifa, running dance parties and a radio show to penetrate London’s queer rave scene with some much-needed rowdiness to raise money for international antifascist solidarity. He’s perfromed at some of the scene’s best loved venue having made his start at former Camden gay bar Her Upstairs, and supported the likes of Sugababes’ Mutya Buena.

Joining him behind the decks is Wacha, straight from The Guardian’s Tuesday cover. She’s snatched headlines for helping coordinate the UK-wide mutual aid movement and is ready to tear this queer party a new one. An artist, activist and DJ, as well as a director and writer of performing arts, she’s what we in the industry call an “all-rounder”. Devoted to justice for feminist and migrant causes, she’s ready to lighten your load with a set of sketchy reggaeton and dance bangers.

Also taking to the decks will be Passer, who’s another third of Glamtifa. Looking to bring politics back to queer partying, they mix sounds from around the globe to produce pumping dancefloor-fillers.

The party will also feature performances from Tommy Rimmerson, Celeste, TLC and a debut musical set from Dan Egg. The party will be streaming for free, but they will be taking donations at PayPal.me/HarryGay.

Queer House Party will be streaming live on Facebook at 9pm on Friday, 20th March. Stay up to date on the Queer House Party event page.
