Friend of Dorothy Presents An Evening With Matt Cain MBE
Join Friend of Dorothy for an evening with Matt Cain MBE, where every penny of ticket revenue will be donated to Not A Phase to support their crucial work with trans and gender-diverse adults across the UK.
Author, broadcaster, and former Editor-in-Chief of Attitude. Awarded an MBE for services to LGBTQ+ culture, he is also the man who crowdfunded The Madonna of Bolton in just seven days after publishers rejected it for being “too gay.”
Matt joins us to celebrate his brand-new novel, The Castle of Stories — the first title from Pansy, a queer independent publisher he founded with his husband — and to reflect on his extraordinary life and career.
James Wallis will join Matt for a live interview covering a range of topics, including Matt’s writing and broadcasting career, his time at Attitude, his advocacy for queer stories, and his MBE. The interview will be followed by a question-and-answer session with the audience.
Afterwards, join everyone for drinks, a book signing, and a proper Friend of Dorothy social. There will also be a pop-up bookshop on site where you can pick up a copy and have it signed by Matt.
