OFF Party returns as OFF LONDON AWAKENING. With its intrepid nightlife concept exploding into the Steel Yard, at a time when we’ve never been more divided, OFF Party has the commendable goal of bringing our LGBTQ+ scene together.
When QX first spoke to DJ Pagano, super mixer and one of the OFF´s founders, he told us about his vision for the night:
¨When Firas and I decided to put on a party together, the first thing we discussed was that we wanted to divert from the usual parameters of the popular LGBTQ+ events on offer during the last 10 years. With the team we all agreed that we wanted to do something different, something unusual… something OFF! Then we got wasted and everything felt and looked OFF, and there you go: it’s a party!
We had been talking about it for years but for one reason or another we couldn’t do it. Then things changed, the time felt right. So we sat down and contacted some of our favourite people in the industry. Everybody involved has the right attitude and in the end all we want is to have a good time and do something we feel proud of.
The ultimate goal is to bring together the East and South London crowds and all niches of the LGBTQ+ scene for a house and techno party. Just like it used to be before it all got fragmented in a million subcultures. The world is divided enough at present and as a community we are under attack in many countries more than ever. So for one night let’s just celebrate who we are without any compromises or fear of being judged. Everyone is welcome if they bring the right party attitude!¨
Pagano´s music is deeply rooted in Italy´s techno culture, afterall he hails from the sunny climes of Sicily. He is a legendary Trade DJ and Producer, and before lockdown you could find him touring the super clubs of Europe, keeping dance floors heaving with his pounding house beats.
With over a year of lockdown, and travel restrictions still in place, OFF´s mission is to really stir the embers of London’s party scene back to life. For one night OFF LDN Awakening is preparing to celebrate without any compromise or fear of being judged.
OFF has already hosted leading lights such as Hannah Holland (known for her regular sets at Bargain’s Panorama Bar & Dalston Super Store), Horsemeat Disco & Glitterbox favourite, Severino, and Little Gay Brother’s Terry Vietheer. Their broad canvas continues to welcome a mixed crowd of party people to OFF LDN, where they can enjoy the sounds of established and upcoming DJs.
A welcome addition is East London’s moustachioed collective Homostash. Homostash head up Room 2 with founder Tafkanik plus Sertima, TiGoX and The Blonde Spirit delivering their vibrant sets of a crossover of electronic music ranging from indie dance, tech house to late night techno. Known for their fun approach to partying, Homostash has top notch DJs and has showcased some great visuals.
OFF told QX, ¨We are so excited to collaborate with DJ and promoter Tafkanik and art-director Branqo – Since its creation in 2014 Homostash has hosted events at some of London’s hottest venues, bringing together creative people, celebrities and obviously moustache lovers! We can’t wait to enjoy the open-minded, welcoming and fun atmosphere of this exciting East London multi platform project at OFF¨
Bringing together clubbers from East and South London and all niches of the LGBTQ+ scene, Pagano and headline guests Shay Malt from Adonis and Chester Hayes are set to take the roof off with their house and techno party soundtrack, ringing out in a hi-octane production setting.

PAGANO
Pagano has a new album ‘Infinite Regress’ coming out on his KISM label, and has been re-located in London for some time now. Pagano recently topped the Beatport Techno charts with his Transfiguration E.P. on Christian Smith’s Tronic label numbering fans such as Monika Kruse and Cocoon’s Karotte. His Tronic Live stream during lockdown also racked up thousands of views and plays and his recent Toolroom release ‘Peace & Unity’ saw fans like Majestic, Roger Sanchez and David Guetta champion it in their sets. Defining categorisation and aiming to keep the house and techno soundtrack cutting edge, Pagano is a genuine party starter in tune to every new development in sound.
