The Love Tank launches Queer Migrants in the City. Saturday 9 April 2022 at The Glasshouse, Bethnal Green Road.
Health and well-being non-profit The Love Tank CIC launches a full day of events, activities, workshops and film for queer migrants in London on Saturday 9 April 2022.
Building on their work supporting queer migrant men to access sexual health services over the past year, the Queer Migrants in the City event expands their focus to broader health and well-being.
Taking a holistic approach to health and well-being, the day kicks off with Go Deeper – a deep breath workshop – and moves through to dance and body movement events, workshops on sexual and reproductive health, a panel focusing on how migrants have navigated and accessed health services, and a showing of Queer China’s film ‘Safe Distance’.
The event climaxes with a workshop, hosted by Número de Serie’s Roberto Tovar exploring the importance of queer spaces. The workshop itself will morph into a queer space, providing a party venue to end the day.
The Love Tank’s Pedro Lino told QX: “The Love Tank has a tradition of providing unique and kick-ass health-focused events and Queer Migrants in the City is no exception. We’re hosting a space that celebrates and honours queer migrants, and all that we bring to London.”
Marc Thompson, Director of The Love Tank added: “Queer migrants make up our city. This day of events provides a space to come together, along with friends and allies, to tell stories, build new alliances, and to have a great time. Whether you’ve just arrived in London, or been here for a while, this event is for you!”
