To celebrate Pride Month 2024 at King’s Head Theatre, they are proudly presenting OUTINGS. OUTINGS is a powerful, funny and soul-bearing play written by Matthew Baldwin and Thomas Hescott (The Act, West End).
Conceptualised in 2014, this captivating and moving collection of true coming-out stories from around the world premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival before touring, having an international run, and being showcased at the West End.
This show is a journey of thought-provoking, affirming, and gripping life experiences – by turns heartbreaking and hilarious – brought to life by the crème de la crème of performers the UK has to offer.
Some guests already confirmed include Tracy-Ann Oberman (Eastenders, Friday Night Dinner), Kate Butch (Drag Race UK), Jodie Jacobs (Rock of Ages, Kathy and Stella Solve a Murder), Samuel Barnett (The History Boys), Ian Hallard (The Boys in the Band), Linus Karp (Gwyneth Goes Skiing, Diana: The Untold and Untrue Story), Abigail Thorn (Philosophy Tube), Freddie Love (Just for One Day), Isabel Adomakoh-Young (As You Like It), and Olivier-award winner David Cumming and Nichola McAuliffe. Further casting is to be announced soon.
For this 2024 production, King’s Head has sent out a callout for new stories to be included in this play version. Writers Thomas Hescott and Matthew Baldwin will work with submissions to incorporate new coming-out stories ten years from the play’s conception through true coming-out stories.
Through Outings, there will be funding for King’s Head Theatre and a collection for LGBTQ+ Switchboard Charity.
So, take advantage of this unforgettable event that honours love, authenticity and the spirit of Pride!
OUTINGS runs at The King’s Head Theatre on selected dates: 7, 9, 14, 21 and 28 June 2024.
