Lord Michael Cashman will lead a conversation exploring Armistead Maupin’s life, work, and the enduring impact of his stories, which continue to serve as a beacon of hope and resistance.

In 1978, Maupin introduced the world to the vibrant life of San Francisco with the publication of the first ‘Tales of the City’ novel. This groundbreaking series, spanning ten books, has captivated millions with its authentic and insightful portrayals of the LGBTQ+ community over the decades.

The evening will feature a reading from Maupin’s work, followed by a discussion. A book signing will conclude the event, providing an opportunity to meet the author.

This is a rare chance to hear from one of our greatest storytellers and thinkers of our time. Don’t miss out! One hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit Positive East’s health and wellbeing and prevention programs.

This event is part of Positive East‘s wider Rays Of Resistance speaker series.

An Evening with Armistead Maupin on 6 February 2025, from 6:30 pm, at Positive East, 159 Mile End Road,  London  E1 4AQ, United Kingdom.
