The Queer Britain Museum celebrated its reopening with a party attended by notable guests including Rosie Jones, Sacha Coward, Philip Sallon, Peter Tatchell, Angelica Ball, and Andrew Hayden Smith on Tuesday, 3 February 2026.
The museum’s galleries have been reimagined around six themes: Resist!, Club Kids, Queer Creativity, Body and Mind, Live Laugh Love, and The World Around Us.
Over 200 objects are featured in the displays, including a panel from the UK AIDS Memorial Quilt and exhibits dedicated to Justin Fashanu, the UK’s first openly gay professional football player.
Additionally, there are temporary exhibitions celebrating 40 years of the BFI Flare festival of LGBTQ films. There is also a look at the pre-internet world of LGBTQ+ print and publications.
