Set against the backdrop of repressive 18th-century England, the musical is based on the haunting true story of William Critchard and Richard Arnold in Redcliffe, Bristol. Ron at Riverside Studios, 13 June – 5 July 2026

Written and performed by Ted Walliker, the story focuses on Tony Foot, who presents his latest stand-up show about life, love, and friendship. Or – at least – he tries to as he seems to have something else on his mind. What starts in McDonald’s stays in McDonald’s, except in this story, where it doesn’t. Sometimes you’re just the Ron person in the Ron place at the Ron time. RON is an absurd, violent, genre-bending queer odyssey exploring the nature of unrequited love; how far would you go to show someone you love them? “Ted Walliker is an absolute force of nature onstage and the kind of performer who reminds you why theatre can feel electric when it’s done right.” – Emmanuel Akwafo, Olivier Award nominee.

Bury Me Before You Marry Me is a play at The Cockpit theatre in London based around queer Chineses family.

Bury Me Before You Marry Me at The Cockpit Theatre, 29 July – 1 August 2026

An interactive dark comedy, Bury Me Before You Marry Me is centred on a queer Chinese family. The show explores how queerness is shaped, negotiated and sometimes constrained within family and cultural expectation. The piece draws on the tradition of ghost marriage (known as minghun, a ghost marriage is a traditional custom where one or both parties involved are deceased), reimagined through a queer lens. Rather than presenting it as a cultural curiosity, the work uses it to open up questions around identity, control, and what “acceptance” really means. The story moves into territory that is emotionally intense and deliberately provocative, touching on themes of secrecy, denial and the limits of familial love. The piece invites the audience to intervene at key moments, shaping how events unfold and implicating them in the dynamics at play.

From the producer of F**king Men, Afterglow (2019), and Happy Ending comes the premier of Robert Chesley’s Jerker. This bold two-person drama follows two strangers who connect through a series of late-night phone calls. What starts as anonymous fantasy quickly evolves into a deeper exploration of secrets, fears, and longings, all revealed through their voices. Each call immerses them further into an intimate world where imagination blurs with genuine connection, raising questions about their true identities. Playful, provocative, and unexpectedly tender, the play delves into how intimacy can flourish in isolation. Jerker is a steamy, suspenseful journey into desire, vulnerability, and the profound power of being heard. Contains strong descriptive language of a sexual nature and nudity.
