Heated Rivalry: The Unauthorized Musical Parody is inspired by the hit TV series Heated Rivalry, which follows the secret relationship between Major League hockey stars Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov. This show recreates some of the most famous moments from the series, accompanied by a soundtrack of catchy pop songs written by Pop Off, Michaelangelo! ‘s Dylan MarcAurele.

The cast consists of five performers, including the ‘wine mom’ narrator, Susan, along with scene-stealing cameos from characters such as “Rose Landry” and “Ilya’s Ass,” who bring the show’s central moments to life.

This camp musical has an infectious bop-infused score featuring songs like “Big Ass, Cold Heart.” All set against a backdrop of ballet-inspired hockey choreography and proudly celebrating the vibrant community the series has fostered.

Zheng Xi Yong, known for his recent performances in American Psycho at the Almeida Theatre and Your Lie in Aprilat the Theatre Royal Drury Lane and the Harold Pinter Theatre, plays the role of Shane Hollander.

Newcomer Joseph Dann, who recently appeared in the National Film Award-winning Hunting Party, makes his professional onstage debut as Ilya Rozanov.

The cast also includes Andrew Berlin, who has credits in 13 Going On 30 (Manchester Opera House world premiere), Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 at the Donmar Warehouse, and Oklahoma! in the West End, as Ilya’s Dad, and Sylvie Stenson, known for her roles in Pop Off, Michelangelo! at the Edinburgh Fringe and the Hamilton UK and Ireland tour, as Shane’s Mom. Additionally, May Tether, who has appeared in Heathers the Musical at Soho Place and Gypsy at Hope Mill in Manchester, will serve as the show’s narrator, Susan.
