Q: What’s Red, Pink and Fierce? A: The two gals performing at GutterSlut and As One in the Park this weekend!

The two north London ladies that form the ‘Red’ and the ‘Pink’ of this fresh, up-and-coming urban duo are Yoda Savya and Emma Prior. They’re edgy (with a wardrobe to rival Rhianna’s) and boy have they got attitude: “We don’t give a crap, get your own life on track” being some of their lyrics. We have no doubt that these girls are doing things exactly how they want to, and that’s fine with us, cause the girls are doing good.

They’ve worked their way up from the bottom playing clubs, then London’s gay Pride, Glastonbury and now they’ve even played the O2, supporting Professor Green and Misha B. That sounds like an eclectic mix of events, but that’s the beauty of RedNPink, they combine grime, dubstep and electro, adding their unique punk flavour and, dare we say, enough camp for the pop fans to hail them.

They traverse music scenes and woo fans from every court. But a jack-of-all-trades these ladies are not, being true masters (or should that be mistresses) of each genre they delve into. A look at their YouTube certainly shows these girls can sing live and their recent track ‘Like What?’ produced with one of our favourite DJs, Per QX, shows that these girls can most definitely record amazing tracks, too.

Per QX gave us an exclusive listen and… we adore. It’s punk-pop, rap and ragga with a machine gun sounding house groove and baseline. The message is to be yourself and not change for anyone, so the gays are going to LOVE IT, especially with RedNPink living what they preach. Also, we’ve never seen Per this excited before, so this duo must be special.

No doubt you want to know how and when you can hear more of these ladies, already. Well, we’ve just been informed that they’ll be doing a live PA at GutterSlut this Saturday and on Sunday they’ll be performing at As One In The Park. With talent like this they’re set for big things… you read it here first.
