It’s time to cut a rug, because the legendary Carpet Burn returns to Eagle London on Saturday 30th of June. We had a chat with the lads to find out what’s in store!

Carpet burn is back! We’re pleased as punch, how did this happen?

Yes, it sure is, back with a BANG! A return has been on the cards for a while and what better time than to celebrate the 20th anniversary of The Spice Girls? We also wanted our Carpet Burn customers to come and enjoy our new refit with our incredible new sound system, laser lights and HD Screens, plus of course our beautiful beer garden that’s just perfect for summer nights.

We get the feeling from the poster that the Fab Five might be involved…

The Fab Five are involved yes! They are our inspiration behind our visuals, the party theme and the amazing drink offers on the night. The walls of the venue now change colour and will do so five times throughout the night, representing one of the Spice Girls cocktail offers!

What are the 241 SPICE cocktails?

When the walls change colour and are say, Red for Geri, during that time the Geri cocktail will be available.

QUESTION: Is Geri Halliwell nee Horner mad. Like, mad as box of frogs?

Of course Geri Halliwell’s a wee bit mad, but that’s why we love her, don’t we? We brits are a tad eccentric and I guess we can all relate to one of the Spice Girls 🙂

Have you ever had a carpet burn, and HOW did you get it?

Yes!! How do you think? Not from Hoovering, let’s put it that way!

What is your favourite variety of carpet? We like big thick paisley ones.

Tufted shag! They are `kinder` on the Carpet Burn front!

If you could pick ANY celebrity to turn up on the night, who would it be and why?

I think it would be Divine & Grace Jones. Carpet Burn is one of Eagle London’s more Spontaneous nights. We never know who could walk through those doors or what the hell could happen? Divine & Grace Jones were & are both very spontaneous icons. They would have fitted in & LOVED Carpet Burn. Everyone is free to be themselves at Carpet Burn and we celebrate each other’s differences.

Describe Carpet Burn’s ethos in three words

Fun – Poppers – Party!

What carpety tunes can we expect?

The best of pop from the 80’s, 90’s & 00’s with SPICE!!!

What are your plans for the future? Are there more Carpet Burns on the horizon?

Once you have one Carpet Burn there’s always more to follow! Each one will tingle a little differently but still have that burning sensation that stays with you long after the last dance. Watch this Spice! I mean ‘space’.

• Carpet Burn is on Saturday 30th July at Eagle London (349 Kennington Lane, SE11 5QY), 9pm – 4am. £5 after 10pm.
