After a sold-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2025 and a March show in New York at The Public Theater (Joe’s Pub, where they recorded a live album of HOLE! (stream now), Jake Brasch and Nadja Leonhard-Hooper are bringing HOLE! to London for the first time. Catch it at Soho Theatre from 17 July to 1 August at 9:30pm, before it heads back to Edinburgh Fringe from 5 August to 31 August at Underbelly Cowbarn, also at 9:30pm.

“A razor-sharp satire, taking gleeful swipes at religion, repression, and homophobia while celebrating sexual awakening, queer joy, and the resilience of love and chosen family.”

The List

HOLE! is a new musical comedy for two performers, written and performed by off-Broadway favourites Jake Brasch (The Reservoir, Atlantic Theatre Company) and Nadja Leonhard-Hooper (Derangements, Clubbed Thumb). Together, they perform as American Sing-Song (A.S.S.). The show is both ridiculous and profound, mixing bold humour with genuine warmth. Imagine The Book of Mormon meeting The Mighty Boosh. Directed by RJ Tolan (long-time Program Director of Youngblood at the Ensemble Studio Theatre), HOLE! is produced by Benjamin Nelson and David Thomas Tao, with UK Executive Producers Indigo Productions. The creative team includes Emmie Finckel for set design, Paige Seber for lighting, Eamon Goodman for sound, Hahnji Jang for costumes, and movement by award-winning clowns Xhloe & Natasha.

This musical tells the story of a strict religious sect in Nebraska. After an apocalyptic event called ‘The Great Sucking,’ they are the only humans left on earth – along with anyone else who happens to be doing butt stuff at the time. When two young members set out on a life-changing journey, they discover what love, life, and HOLE! really mean.

“We have seldom seen such a response to a show as the one HOLE! received last year. It is completely singular, and the intrigue building around this show will be of no surprise to those lucky enough to have caught it so far.”

UK Executive Producers, James Lane & Ed McGovern

Producers Benjamin Nelson and David Thomas Tao told QX, “Jake Brasch and Nadja Leonhard-Hooper are two of the most deranged genius playwrights working today. As American Sing-Song, they’re an unstoppable force of joy and lunacy in a world that sorely needs it. It’s an honor to help bring their vision to the stage. We strongly encourage audiences to show up curious and receptive.”

HOLE! runs at Soho Theatre, 17 July – 1 August, 2026, 21 Dean Street, London W1D 3NE, United Kingdom.
