The first trailer has just been released for upcoming gay conversion drama, Boy Erased. It’s written and directed by Joel Edgerton, with an ensemble cast including Nicole Kidman, Russell Crowe, Xavier Dolan and Troye Sivan.
It’s based on Garrard Conley’s harrowing memoir of the same name, in which he recounts how he was sent to a gay conversion camp after he came out to his extremely religious parents.
With its inventive casting, heartbreaking trailer and Oscar-season release date, the movie’s already causing a stir. Watch the trailer here:
