This weekend at the Eagle

The Vauxhall venue’s got loads of great stuff this weekend

We may only be steadily teetering into summer, but The Eagle has already slapped on an itsy-bitsy bikini and is getting her life pool-side after knocking back one too many tequilas. This week’s roster of events features a wonderfully dotty trio of awe-inspiring vixens. Here are the yampy nights coming your way at The Eagle this weekend:

Carpet Burn presents Madonna – Celebration X

Friday 7th of June

A professor. A head of state. A housekeeper. An equestrian. A prisoner. A student. A mother. A child. A teacher. A nun. A singer. A saint. A whore. She’s Madame X. Carpet Burn are back this week with a night dedicated to Madonna’s latest persona, laying down fresh mixes at the allusive icon’s alter. The woman of the hour couldn’t quite fit it into her schedule, so Carpet burn have recruited the next best thing: Melissa Totten. Known international for her uncanny Madonna, a few drinks in you’ll be CONVINCED the real one hopped over on a Ryan Air flight from her Lisbon home.  Taking to the decks will be Athena boys Paul Joseph and Gareth Hackney, joined by San Fran import Guy Ruben.

9pm – 4am. Free before 10pm, £5 after.

The Almighty Cheer Up Party with Hazell Dean

Saturday 8th of June

Queen of the Hi-NRG makes her triumphant return to the Cheer Up stage, the incomparable Hazel Dean. Celebrating their 7th year of throwback poptacular action, they’ve enlisted a haze of Hazell to stupefy the crowds into a frenzy of nihilistic nostalgia. It’s an evening dedicated to the music of the Almighty Stock Aitken Waterman, so frost those tips and dust off that fringe leather jacket.

9pm – 4am. £10 tickets available at TicketTailor.com/events/cheerup/.

Horse Meat Disco with Lady Bunny

Sunday 9th of June

Get ready to feed at the trough of the Queen of New York City scene, pig in a wig Lady Bunny. It’s not her first time riding that Horse Meat, though in her old age she’s traded in doing crack at dawn to getting up at the crack of dawn, so this is a rare late night outing for the ethereal swine. The Chinese calendar says it’s her year, and James Hillard is itching to get her back to tear the Eagle a new one.

8pm – 3am. £6 on the door. Free ‘til midnight for HMD Black Card holders.

The Eagle, 349 Kennington Lane, London SE11 5QY. Keep up to date with all things Eagle on Twitter (@EagleLondon) and Facebook (@EagleLDN).
