The only queer-focused pub in SE1 is a response to the loss of gay bars, pubs and queer safe spaces. An eclectic haven nestled in the heart of our community, celebrating resilience, diversity, and the spirit of uprising! There are numerous events across the week and later opening times on the weekend.

The Rising serves a rotating selection of beers, cocktails and plant-based bar snacks.

The Rising has proudly served the local community since 1936, and they’re here to continue that heritage. The Rising is open to all in Elephant & Castle (dogs included), with zero judgment.
