Pride weekend at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern

Royal Vauxhall Tavern
Royal Vauxhall Tavern

One of the UK’s most beloved queer venues has loads going on over Pride!

The Lipsinkers – Friday, 5th July

9pm – 3am

Gay Christmas Eve! Also known as the night before Pride. The RVT are kicking off their celebrations with the hyped-up troupe of broken toys that are the LipSinkers. Garnering acclaim after acclaim, they’re back at their home on the Tavern stage with an hour-long show that’ll blow your fishnet stockings off. Sitting front row at a LipSinkers show, you’ll never want to be part of a friend group more than this lot. You’ll take being a LipSinker over a Spice Girl any day. When the show wraps up, DJs Dawn Amber Harvey and David Robson take to the decks to provide party tunes into the early hours.

Tickets £8 + booking fee, available at VauxhallTavern.com.

Gay Shame – Saturday, 6th July

9pm – 4am

Giving an ironic middle finger to the corporate colourful crusade of Pride, the Royal Vauxhall Tavern are taking over a Vauxhall tunnel to flog a dead horse. Lathering themselves in dark, sickly shame, the Duckie crew are drawing the scenes queer casualties, ambitionless chain-smokers and wage-slaves with spare change under a railway arch all pride-night long. Taking to the stage will be Amy Lamé, Readers Wifes, Mouse, Travis Alabanza, Horrora Shebang, The Young Once, Father Cloth, 17 Effing Students and 25 Desperate Dancers. Dance work choreographed by H Plewis and Lea Anderson is sure to leave you drooling and dredging through piles of empty tinnies. Medication available at the bar.

Tickets £15 on the door only, no advance sales.

Sunday Social – Sunday, 7th July

4pm – 10:30pm

A little-known cure for a hangover? More drinking. New York-based pop-vocal drag trio Stephanie’s Child are flying the Atlantic to get Social this Sunday at the RVT. Jan Sport, Lagoona Bloo and Rosé take to the stage at 5:30pm to rock out the crowd with their unique brand of Manhattan pop jams and drag trickery. They’re the 7-foot-tall Power Puff Girls that can really work a cover. Simon Le Vans will be on the decks serving up those bangers, welcoming special guest Adam Turner to make his debut appearance at the Tavern.

Tickets £5 for members, £7 for non-members.
